If the board had an USB controller, there may have been an entry, if it was turned off in BIOS, check for the setting 'Disabled' and turn it on.the controller chip should be detected.you may not have a driver, Windows CD may not either, but it can be downloaded, either from chipset makers site or motherboard's. I am assuming you know how to enter the BIOS setup- look at the screens, but dont touch anything except the setting to enable USB if it is not set so. You have to save and exit as it tells you, to make your changes stick.
